Excellent video, Robert- content and tutoring was top notch, and the video production was clean and pro. Man, that's a gateway lick.
I'm one of those "mere mortals" you mentioned on the video, Robert. I think I can learn this lick slower and make it sound pretty good.
I'm currently working on a SRV style solo in E by my guitar teacher Jody Worrell. Since I was one who promised to get a recording up on the jam sessions within 10 days, this is the one.
I've got a "Pride and Joy" backing track, which I have slowed down to 95% speed. I've got the slower track in GarageBand, and having spent a few hours fiddling with it (and watching more tutorials) I think I can use my USB mike to record the guitar track onto the backing track. I don't want to use the tone of my Line6 Amplifi 75 and pedal board, so I'm going with miking up the amp.
It will take me a day or two of recording to get something worth posting. I'm not worried about making it perfect. I am worried about sounding like a monkey hitting random notes and strings!
