Let’s Play Some Slowhand Blues
This is a solo in the style of Eric Clapton – inspired by his recording of “Reconsider Baby” from the album “From The Cradle”. Take a look at the video below for more information.
What is this course about
What you will learn
A tasty solo, containing 26 killer Clapton licks. The licks span 36 bars, and most of the licks are of Intermediate level.
I’ve also included information on the “special” pick hand technique, the gear I used, and I go over the chord progression in detail as well.
What do you get?
You will get 6 videos in total. I have also provided Tablature and Guitar Pro files for you, and there are of course Mp3 files of the solo and the backing track.
The download is a zip file of 1.3 GB. Note – you can NOT download this big file on a tablet, unless you have the right app for handling zip files. GoodReader is one that works well for iPads.
The video has chapter markers for each lick, which makes it very easy to locate each lick as you are learning.
Who is it for?
This course is for Intermediate players who want to learn a solo in the style of Eric Clapton.
The Solo You Will Learn
This is what you are going to learn. The progression bar makes it easy to see where you are in the chord progression.

I had a look at Robert's course, and I discovered I hadn't heard / listened to Mr Clapton's CD - From The Cradle (I know - shame on me). I looked at the song list and immediately ordered the CD, and now it is one of my favourites, where he brings the old blues songs to life, and liked Mr Clapton's version of Reconsider Baby. But also listened to Lowell Fulson's original song, and a live Elvis / James Burton version, and a Freddy King version. Inside Mr Clapton's CD is a booklet, you will find some poetry I liked:
All along this path I tread,
My heart betrays my weary head,
With nothing but my love to save,
From the cradle to the grave.
With Mr Clapton now in his 70's, and surviving the 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, 2010's and still enduring. Well it speaks for itself and the musician he is, and how he reinvented himself in playing both Electric and Acoustic guitar. His DVD / 70th birthday special Live at the Royal Albert Hall, is also well worth watching.
If you like Mr Clapton, you will like Robert's course Reconsidering Blues.
One of Robert's best. He's all business on his lessons
and I like it.
Arguably one of Robert Renman's best solos to date. I can't say I've ever seen any lessons online that will get you sounding as close to Clapton as this one. At a manageable tempo and workable phrasing. 36 bars of pure bliss. You won't be disappointed.
Here is yet another great course from Robert Renman, the Master of Master Guitar Academy. 36 bars of soloing goodness, 26 cool useful licks. This can definitely bring you a step closer to playing like Clapton!
