Swing Blues Rhythm

The Swing Blues Rhythm course is a good start in getting into “swingy blues”. Really, we are on the edge of jazz here, because of the feel of the rhythm. It’s not a standard shuffle feel. No, it’s swinging 1/8 notes that does that jiving swing. It’s hard to teach, because it’s not scientific. The best way to understand this feel is to listen to this style of music a lot. Listen to swing, jazz, big bands, for example. Once you can hear it and feel it, you can play it, but not before then!

I also encourage you to record yourself playing this lesson/groove. Remember you can never be a good lead guitar player unless you can play rhythm well. I know from experience!
